Mackinaw Pepsi International Outhouse Races HAPPENING IN 2022
Outhouse Races: scheduled for Saturday at 2pm on the Shepler’s Lot located on Huron Ave and Central Ave. This novelty event starts with the parade of outhouses which proves to be creative, colorful and entertaining – a must see!
- 1st Place Cash Prize ~ $500
- 2nd Place Cash Prize ~ $200
- 3rd Place Cash Prize ~ $100
- $100 Cash Prize for “Best In Show“
The races are open to Adult & Junior Teams. Rules are as follows: The Outhouse must be 4x4x6 on skis. Must have a 5 person team {1-must ride & 4-push or pull}. The Outhouse must have a Toilet Seat and have Material to Wipe with. Entry must have a Name. Entrants under 18 must have a parent’s signature and ALL teams and participants must sign a waiver. 2022 KIDS BIG FREEZE OBSTACLE COURSE: RACERS WANTED! The BIG Freeze obstacle course is a series of challenging physical obstacles an individual must navigate while being timed. The KIDS BIG Freeze Obstacle course includes running, climbing, jumping, zig zagging, crawling, pulling and balancing elements with the aim of testing speed, endurance and agility. In lieu of having more FUN, costumes are encouraged but not required! PRIZES and AWARDS will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place fastest times for each age class category.
BIG FUN FOR ALL AGES:
1) Children Boys & Girls Ages 6 to 7
2) Tween Boys & Girls Ages 8 to 11
3) Teen Boys & Girls Ages 12 to 14
4) Youth Boys & Girls Ages 15 to 17
NO FEE to register. Early registration deadline: January 20, 2022. To register please email events@mackinawcity.com – Please include in your email Name of the child participating, age and a good contact number. Onsite registration will be available from 10:30am to 11:30am (ONSITE REGISATION ONLY IF SPOTS AVAILABLE)
Races begin at NOON on the Mackinaw City Municipal Marina Lawn located at 107 S Huron Ave next to the Shepler’s Lot .
Chili Cook Off Competition! CANCELLD FOR 2022
Chili Cook-Off Competition: begins at Mama Mia’s Pizzeria located at: 231 East Central Ave. from 11:00 am and runs till 1:00 pm. Come early to taste and vote for your favorite recipe. To place an entry a registration form is needed and registrations will be accepted until space is full. Tasting and people’s choice awards require a Winter Fest Button. Rules and entry forms are available from the Chamber of Commerce 231-436-5574.
